=== Nuggets try to halt two-game losing streak ===

Denver, CO (Basketball News) - The Denver Nuggets attempt to put the brakes on a two-game losing streak tonight when they welcome the Miami Heat to the Pepsi Center.

The Nuggets lost to the Dallas Mavericks, 91-88, on Friday at the Pepsi Center. Andre Miller led Denver with game-highs of 28 points and 10 assists. Rodney White added 14 and Carmelo Anthony chipped in with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Denver’s Marcus Camby pulled down a game-high 19 rebounds to go along with eight points in Friday’s loss.

The Nuggets, who have lost four of their last six as the host, are 15-7 at home this season.

The Heat finish their six-game road trip tonight. On Friday, Eddie Jones scored 21 points and handed out six assists to lead Miami over the Los Angeles Clippers, 87-85, at the Staples Center.

Caron Butler added 14 points for the Heat, who stopped a four-game losing streak. Miami won for just the second time on the road in 13 tries against Western Conference teams this season. Lamar Odom was booed in his return to LA, but still posted his 19th double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

With just 45.8 seconds left, Jones drilled a wide-open three-pointer from the left corner to extend Miami’s advantage to 87-83.

Corey Maggette then made a layup with 31 seconds remaining to cut the deficit to two points for Los Angeles.

But they were the last points of the game as Odom slipped and turned the ball over on the next possession, which could have extended the Heat lead.

However, the Clippers failed to capitalize as Maggette dribbled the ball down the court and was unable to get a final shot off, despite having eight seconds on the clock

The Heat are 5-18 on the road this season.

In 2002-03, Denver won both contests between the two teams.

Overall, the Nuggets have won two straight after losing the last 13 meetings with the Heat.
