The Nuggets have won two in a row after a three-game slide and posted a 109-102 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday at the Bradley Center.
Newly-named All-Star Carmelo Anthony finished with 29 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists to lead Denver, which is 7 1/2 games off the lead in the Northwest Division behind the Utah Jazz. The Nuggets were without All-Star guard Allen Iverson after he missed the sixth game in seven tries with an ankle problem.
Iverson is listed as doubtful for Monday’s home contest versus Golden State, while forward Marcus Camby also missed Saturday’s game with a groin strain and is questionable.
The Nuggets are 13-14 at the Pepsi Center this season.
Golden State, meanwhile, has alternated wins and losses over the last seven games and suffered a 106-105 loss on Sunday to the Atlanta Hawks at ORACLE Arena.
Monta Ellis netted 21 points and Matt Barnes had 17 points and 12 boards for the Warriors, who have dropped five of eight. Kelenna Azubuike added 16 points and Andris Biedrins also scored 16 points with 16 rebounds in defeat.
The Warriors are 15 1/2 games off the Pacific lead and just 6-19 as the visitor this season.
Monday’s showdown between the Warriors and Nuggets is the third of four matchups this season. Denver is 2-0 so far this season and has won three straight and six of the last seven meetings.
Golden State has lost six straight after winning its last two at the Pepsi Center.
