The Nets, meanwhile, come into tonight’s contest on a high note after Richard Jefferson scored a game-high 31 points to go along with six rebounds in New Jersey’s 101-88 win over the Seattle SuperSonics on Tuesday at Continental Airlines Arena.
Kenyon Martin collected 25 points and seven boards, and Jason Kidd finished two rebounds shy of a triple-double with 14 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, as the Nets won their third straight game for the first time this year.
Even though New Jersey did not score in the final five minutes, with the Sonics ending the game on an 18-0 run, Seattle still couldn’t get closer than the 13-point final margin.
New Jersey, which is 5-5 away from this season, will be starting a brief two- game road trip tonight.
The Nets split their four matchups with the Magic last season, but could have the advantage tonight, as the road team in this series has won eight of the last 11 meetings.
New Jersey has won six of the last 10 meetings, including five of its last eight in Orlando.
