(Basketball News) - The Orlando Magic extended a franchise-record with their 19th consecutive loss on Saturday, as they dropped a 110-97 decision to the Dallas Mavericks at AmericanAirlines Center.
The Magic, who have not won since an overtime victory over the New York Knicks on opening night, were led by Tracy McGrady’s 27 points. Juwan Howard added 24 points and 10 rebounds against his former team, while Tyronn Lue scored 16 and Rod Strickland posted 10 points off the bench.
Orlando was within one at 64-63 early in the second half, but a 15-6 run by Dallas put the game out of reach. Michael Finley capped the spurt with a three-pointer at the 7:00 mark, giving the Mavericks a 79-69 advantage.
Dallas extended its lead to 13 points by the end of the third, carrying an 89-76 cushion into the final stanza, and Orlando never came closer than nine points after that.
The Magic, who are 1-8 away from home this season, will return to the court . on Monday when it welcomes the Phoenix Suns to town.
