(Basketball News) - The Orlando Magic were defeated by the Seattle SuperSonics, 115-101, on Saturday at the TD Waterhouse Centre.
Tracy McGrady scored a game-high 40 points for the Magic, who have dropped three of four.
Seattle opened the final stanza with an 18-8 run to build its largest lead of the contest. Vladimir Radmanovic’s free throw with 6:40 left capped the surge and put the Sonics up 100-86.
McGrady hit a jumper with 2:37 to play that pulled the Magic to within seven, but Radmanovic nailed a three-pointer to give Seattle a 103-93 lead with 5:03 remaining.
The Sonics eventually built the lead up to 16, as Radmanovic buried a three- pointer to put them up 115-99 with 1:17 to play.
McGrady has averaged 32.5 points in his last 10 games.
The Magic are off until Monday when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers. It will be the second and final meeting of the season between the two squads. On February 8, the Lakers beat Orlando, 98-96, at TD Waterhouse Centre.
