Orlando Magic Team Report - November 15 11.15.2003
|
(Basketball News) - Tracy McGrady was a one-man wrecking crew with a league season-high 51 points on Friday night, but the Magic still fell 106-101 to the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center. He was 20-of-30 from the field, including drilling 8-of-11 from three-point range in the losing effort.
Only two other Magic reached double digits, as Tyronn Lue posted 13 points and Drew Gooden chipped in 10. Outside of McGrady, Orlando hit just 19-of-57 field goal attempts (.333). The Magic were also outrebounded, 53-45, in the win.
Orlando forward Pat Garrity did not play due to a sore right knee. Garrity continues to be listed as day-to-day.
Orlando hasn’t won since an opening night overtime victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Magic nearly lost that contest, but made a late comeback to get a victory.
The Magic are in the midst of their worst skid since dropping eight in a row from January 7-20, 2000. Orlando hasn’t lost more than eight straight since 1991-92, when they dropped a franchise-record 17 consecutive games.
Orlando continues its road jaunt against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night.
