Payton out 2-3 weeks

Miami, FL (Basketball News) - Miami Heat guard Gary Payton is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a torn left calf muscle, which occurred during practice on Monday.

The 38-year-old Payton has averaged 5.3 points, 2.9 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 67 games (27 starts) for Miami this season.

Jason Kapono, who has missed 14 games with a sprained ankle, will likely see more time at guard in Payton’s place.
