Philadelphia 76ers Team Report - February 24
|
(Basketball News) - The Philadelphia 76ers will try to halt their two-game losing streak without All-Star guard Allen Iverson tonight as they visit the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena.
This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams. On November 29, 2003, the Sixers knocked off the Hawks, 98-86, at the Wachovia Center.
On Monday, Philadelphia lost to the Detroit Pistons, 76-66, in front of its home crowd. In his 200th consecutive start, Eric Snow netted 12 points and handed out nine assists for the Sixers, who returned from their final West- Coast trip of the season without their All-Star.
Iverson was forced to watch his 15th game of the season from bench with a shoulder contusion he suffered on Thursday in a win at Seattle. The 76ers are 5-10 without the Georgetown product.
Philadelphia forward Kenny Thomas is game-time decision for tonight’s game because of a sprained right thumb, which he suffered in the loss to Detroit. Thomas, who didn’t start the game for the Sixers, tallied 10 points and 18 rebounds. Thomas was being punished for arriving late to Philadelphia’s pre- game shoot around.
The Sixers are 2-11 when they allow at least 100 points this season.
Philadelphia, which has lost six of seven and seven of its last nine as the visitor, is 10-19 on the road this season.
