(Basketball News) - Allen Iverson finished with 33 points, 11 assists and eight steals to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 106-85 win over the Chicago Bulls Friday at the United Center.
Iverson was 11-of-21 from the floor and Glenn Robinson chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers, who have won two of their last three games. Samuel Dalembert contributed a career-high 14 points and seven boards off the bench.
The Sixers pushed their lead to 40-25 early in the second quarter on a pair of foul shots by Aaron McKie. Chicago countered with a 13-3 run, capped by an Eddie Robinson jumper, to pull within 43-38. Philadelphia squelched the Chicago surge and carried a 53-44 cushion into the break.
Philadelphia grabbed a comfortable lead when Robinson buried a three to make it 79-59 with less than two minutes to go in the third quarter. The 76ers then led by an 81-63 score after 36 minutes.
With less than seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, McKie drained a three to extend Philadelphia’s lead to 92-71. McKie ended with 12 points off the pine. The Bulls never put together a threatening comeback and suffered the 21-point loss.
Philadelphia is off until Sunday when it hosts the Indiana Pacers.
