(Basketball News) - Phoenix has posted eight straight wins and hasn’t lost since November 13 to Sacramento. The Suns have won eight in a row first the first time since Feb. 6-24, 2000. Phoenix sits atop the Pacific Division, leading Sacramento by three games.
The Suns tacked on another victory Tuesday night, as they registered a 115-102 win over the shorthanded Utah Jazz. Amare Stoudemire scored 29 points and pulled down nine rebounds to anchor Phoenix to the win.
Shawn Marion finished with 21 points and nine rebounds for the Suns, while Steve Nash contributed 20 points and 14 assists. Nash played despite leaving the previous game with a head injury.
Quentin Richardson added 18 points and Joe Johnson chipped in 15 for Phoenix, which is off to its best start since beginning the 1980-81 season with a 14-2 record.
Phoenix will try to extend its hot streak tonight, when it takes on the Cleveland Cavaliers at America West Arena. The Suns, which are beginning a two-game homestand, own a 5-1 mark at America West Arena this season.
Cleveland handed Phoenix one of its two losses on the year back on November 10, 114-109, in overtime at Gund Arena. Nonetheless, the Suns have won nine of their last 11 meetings with the Cavs.
