=== Phoenix Suns Team Report - February 1 ===

(Basketball News) - The Phoenix Suns fell to the New York Knicks, 110-105, on Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

Joe Johnson led the Suns with 31 points and Shawn Marion added 16 points and 14 boards in the loss. Jake Voskuhl had 18 points for Phoenix, which closed out its five-game road swing at 1-4.

Howard Eisley, the only player involved in the Stephon Marbury trade to play for Phoenix, finished with 13 points in 24 minutes.

Phoenix quickly deadlocked the contest with five straight points to open the third, but New York then re-established its advantage with an 18-8 burst. Again it was Marbury doing most of the damage for the Knicks, as he scored 11 of the 18 points for New York during the run.

The resilient Suns, however, fought back and pulled within 86-84 heading into the final quarter. But the Knicks again answered with a spurt and pulled ahead by eight, 98-90, after a Moochie Norris three-pointer with 7:45 remaining.

New York would never let Phoenix get too close the rest of the way, and even though the Suns pulled within three with just seconds left to play, New York iced the contest with solid free throw shooting down the stretch.

The Suns are off until Monday when they host the Houston Rockets.
