(Basketball News) - The Phoenix Suns’ season of misery continued on Saturday with a 105-76 thumping at the hands of the defending champion San Antonio Spurs at the SBC Center.
Amare Stoudemire posted team-highs with 20 points and nine rebounds for the Suns, who were looking to win back-to-back games.
The Suns opened the scoring on an Antonio McDyess basket, but Tim Duncan responded with 10 unanswered points by himself to give the Spurs a 10-2 edge and they never looked back.
Rookie Maciej Lampe added 12 points and six boards in a career-high 29 minutes in the loss.
The Suns, who wrapped up a four-game road trip, have won just four of their last 14 on the road and slipped to 16-22 away from home this season.
Phoenix will return to action on Monday against the Washington Wizards.
