(Basketball News) - The Phoenix Suns were able to post a 95-86 win over New Orleans on Friday, but lost point guard Steve Nash in the process.
Nash suffered a concussion after being elbowed late in the second quarter and didn’t return. However, he has been cleared to play in Tuesday’s game against Utah. In 12 games for Phoenix this season, Nash is averaging 16.2 points and 11.6 assists.
Shawn Marion had a season-high 33 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Phoenix to the 95-86 win over the Hornets on Friday at America West Arena.
Quentin Richardson finished with 21 points for the Suns, who have won seven straight for the first time since November 2-15, 2000. Amare Stoudemire contributed 14 points and 14 boards for Phoenix, which is off to its best start since beginning the 1980-81 season with a 14-2 record.
Down 84-82, Phoenix reeled off eight straight points in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory .
The Suns are off until Tuesday evening when they will visit the Jazz. Phoenix dropped three out of four to Utah last year and is just 4-8 in the last 12 matchups with the Jazz.
