Pistons place Atkins on IL; activate Hunter

Auburn Hills, MI (Basketball News) - The Detroit Pistons placed guard Chucky Atkins on the injured list prior to Sunday’s game with New Jersey and activated guard Lindsey Hunter.

He is suffering from a strained left knee, which he injured in Friday’s victory over Milwaukee. Atkins is averaging 5.0 points and 2.2 assists in five games this season.

Hunter started the season on the injured list with a strained hamstring and hasn’t played a game yet. Last season, he averaged 9.7 points and 2.4 assists while appearing in 29 games for Toronto.
