Pistons rout Bucks

Detroit played without Rasheed Wallace, who missed the game due to an NBA suspension, and Richard Hamilton because of flu-like symptoms. Chris Webber felt sick during the game and sat out the second quarter but returned in the third.

Antonio McDyess scored 20 points, including 13 in the second frame, after Webber went to the locker room. Jason Maxiell, who started for Wallace, finished with career highs in points with 19 and rebounds with 15 for the Pistons, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Flip Murray started in place of Hamilton and scored 16 points for Detroit, which shot 57 percent.

"I’ve said over the last four games, we have a better plus-minus with our subs on the floor than our starters," said Detroit coach Flip Saunders. "So as a coach, you become more apt to go to those other guys a little bit earlier."

Ersan Ilyasova deposited 21 points, Charlie Bell 17, and Michael Redd 14 for the Bucks, who after winning their first two games under new coach Larry Krystkowiak have dropped two in a row.

Trailing 26-18, Detroit embarked on a 20-5 run, capped by a McDyess layup which put the Pistons ahead, 38-31, with a little over 6 1/2 minutes to go in the second quarter.

Detroit shot 80 percent and outscored Milwaukee 37-18 in the second quarter on its way to a 59-44 lead at the half.

Prince scored 15 points in the third stanza and the Pistons maintained their 15-point cushion 87-72 heading into the final quarter.

Detroit started the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run, capped by a Maxiell layup giving the Pistons a 97-72 advantage with 8:39 to go.

Detroit, who outrebounded Milwaukee 46-33, was never threatened thereafter.

"The first fourteen minutes of the game I was pretty pleased," said Krystkowiak. "Then we had some lulls and had a heck of a time rebounding the basketball, which was the finishing point on a lot of those possessions - they got multiple offensive rebounds. I thought we kind of took that with us down to the offensive end. We weren’t executing that well."

Wallace’s earned an automatic one-game suspension after he was called for his 18th technical foul of the season Friday against San Antonio...Milwaukee shot 43.9 percent...Detroit blocked eight shots...Saunders was given a technical foul with 4:15 left in the third quarter...Milwaukee has been depleted by injuries all season and will be without Andrew Bogut and Charlie Villanueva the remainder of the season.
