Detroit posted a 110-88 drubbing of the Magic on Wednesday night from The Palace of Auburn Hills, as Chris Webber recovered from a poked eye to score 18 points and lead Detroit to victory.
Richard Hamilton also netted 18 points for the Pistons, who have won nine of their last 10 games. Chauncey Billups scored 17 points and tallied seven assists, while Antonio McDyess added 14 points in the winning effort.
The Pistons have won three in a row on the road and are an Eastern Conference- best 16-9 as the visitor this season.
Meanwhile, Orlando has dropped two straight and six of its last eight games. Against the Pistons, Dwight Howard was a force and recorded 26 points and 15 rebounds in a losing cause.
Jameer Nelson scored 14 points, while Grant Hill added 10 for the Magic, who are 5 1/2 games behind division-leading Washington in the Southeast standings.
Friday’s showdown between Detroit and Orlando is the third of four meetings this season. The Pistons have won the first two encounters and are 6-1 over the previous seven matchups.
Detroit has won three of its last four at Orlando.
