PJ Carlesimo to Be Replaced as Coach of Sonics?

Two weeks ago, Sonics general manager Sam Presti did not commit to Carlesimo returning as coach next season. According to a league source, the team’s brass is still deliberating about Carlesimo’s future.

Presti has not spoken with the media since April 17, but when asked three times during the postseason session, he would not confirm Carlesimo’s return. The question for the Sonics organization is whether Carlesimo can develop three franchise cornerstones — Durant, Jeff Green and the team’s No. 1 pick in the June draft.

Carlesimo’s work with Durant, as well as his relationship with veteran players, has been under scrutiny and Presti apparently has been struggling with the decision. [Seattle PI]
