The Clippers are the eighth seed in the Western Conference playoff race. They are just one-half game behind No. 7 Denver and are 1 1/2 games ahead of the ninth-seeded Golden State Warriors.
Los Angeles tries to make it two wins in a row. On Friday, Cuttino Mobley scored 26 points to lead the Clippers over the Sacramento Kings, 105-101, at ARCO Arena.
Corey Maggette added 19 points and seven rebounds for the Clippers, who snapped a 17-game skid in Sacramento and remained in sole possession of the eighth spot in the West. Tim Thomas and Jason Hart both chipped in 16 points in the victory.
The Clippers are 12-24 as the visitor this season. The Clippers return home to host Kobe Bryant and the Lakers on Wednesday at the Staples Center.
Portland plays the middle contest of a three-game homestand. On Thursday, Tarence Kinsey poured in 20 points as the Memphis Grizzlies edged the Trail Blazers, 96-92, at the Rose Garden.
Zach Randolph posted a career-high 43 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in the loss to Memphis for the Trail Blazers, who have dropped three straight games. Rookie Brandon Roy and Travis Outlaw both finished with 13 points in defeat.
On the injury front for Portland, forward Ime Udoka ( concussion) is doubtful. Udoka is averaging 8.6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 71 games this season. He did not play against Memphis.
The Trail Blazers are 16-20 at home this season. They will host Deron Williams and the Utah Jazz on Wednesday at the Rose Garden.
This is the third of four meetings between the clubs this season. The teams split the first two contests.
The Clippers have lost 25 of their last 28 in Portland. The Clippers are scheduled to host the Trail Blazers on April 13th at the Staples Center.
