Portland’s Aldridge to undergo surgery

Portland, OR (Basketball News) - Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair a small ligament tear in his right shoulder.

Dr. Neal Elattrache will perform the procedure in Los Angeles. It is uncertain how long the rookie will be sidelined as the recovery time will be determined after surgery.

Portland acquired Aldridge, who was drafted second overall in the 2006 draft, along with a future second-round pick from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for forward Viktor Khryapa and the draft rights to Tyrus Thomas (fourth pick overall).
