(Basketball News) - Derek Anderson poured in a game-high 27 points as the Portland Trail Blazers routed the Los Angeles Clippers, 101-86, at the Rose Garden on Wednesday.
Zach Randolph added 17 points and hauled down a team-high 10 rebounds for Portland, which snapped a three-game losing streak and has won eight of its last 12 games.
Darius Miles contributed 11 points and Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 13 in the triumph. Damon Stoudamire scored 10 points, but left the game with 4:46 remaining in the fourth quarter. Stoudamire twisted his left ankle and did not return.
The game was tight in the second quarter as both teams headed into the locker room with the Blazers owning a 48-41 advantage.
After the Clippers’ Marko Jaric scored the first two points of the third quarter, the Blazers went on a run to get some breathing room.
Portland followed with a 17-9 flurry, capped by a Stoudamire jumper with 5:55 left, making it a 65-52 contest. After 36 minutes of action the Blazers held a 73-62 cushion.
Portland put the game away in the fourth quarter. Randolph’s short baseline jumper pushed the score to 86-71 with 6:53 remaining and Los Angeles got only as close as 13 from there.
The Blazers are off until Friday when they visit the Golden State Warriors.
