|
(Basketball News) - The Portland Trail Blazers try to go back above the .500 mark this evening when they wrap up their four-game road trip against the Dallas Mavericks at the AmericanAirlines Center.
The Blazers had their season-high five-game winning streak stopped on Friday by the Houston Rockets, who handed Portland a 89-85 setback at the Toyota Center.
Derek Anderson scored 22 points and handed out nine assists, while Zach Randolph posted 17 points and a game-high 17 rebounds in the setback.
At 29-29 Portland is 2 1/2 games behind eighth-place Denver for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Its recent tear had moved the team above the break even mark for the first time since December 29.
The Blazers, who will return home for three games following tonight’s contest, have won five of seven and nine of 12 on the road and are 11-19 away from home this season.
Dallas has beaten the Trail Blazers in two of their three matchups this season and could hold the advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won 14 of the last 19 meetings.
