Raptors edge Knicks

Joey Graham and Anthony Parker each scored 19 points for the Raptors, who have won six straight and 11 of their last 13 games. Jose Calderon donated 18 points off the bench for Toronto, which holds the third spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Raptors finished 51.9 percent shooting from the field, on the way to their seventh straight home win.

"I think that was the difference in the game when we got a couple of turnovers in a row and some fast break points," Parker said. "We got some momentum going our way and that’s what we were missing in the first half."

Eddy Curry had 30 points and Steve Francis added 28 for the Knicks, who have dropped four in a row and 12 of 14 overall. Malik Rose netted 18 points, while Mardy Collins notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists to go along with eight boards in defeat.

"We had control of the game for most of it," Francis said. "Turnovers really hurt us, and late in the game we came up empty on possessions."

It stayed close in the final frame, but after Curry’s driving layup brought the Knicks within two, 91-89, Toronto went on a 8-1 spurt for a 99-90 edge with 2:44 remaining.

Then, at the 1:06 mark, Rose buried a pair of free throws to cut the New York’s deficit to 100-99. Bosh, however, hit a fadeaway jumper with 45.8 seconds left.

Francis then made two from the line as the Knicks trailed by one with 10.4 to play, while Bosh did the same on the other end to give the Raptors a 104-101 edge with 8.6 seconds remaining.

Francis’ tip shot closed the gap to one, 104-103, but Graham hit a driving layup and a free throw to ice the game.

New York shot 49.3 percent from the floor.

A nip-and-tuck first quarter led to the Raptors taking a 30-27 lead at the conclusion on Parker’s three-pointer.

The Knicks, trailing by four, went on a 16-0 burst — capped by Nate Robinson’s trey — for a 43-31 lead with eight minutes remaining in the second. New York continued to hold their advantage, but T.J. Ford drained a jumper at the buzzer and cut Toronto’s deficit to 59-50 at the break.

The Raptors clawed back in the third as Calderon’s free throw gave them a 72-70 edge with 2:23 left. Both teams traded buckets the rest of the way with Curry draining a pair from the line to send New York into the fourth up 78-77.
