Raptors host Garnett, Timberwolves

Toronto owns a one-game lead over Boston, New Jersey and New York in the division and had its two-game winning streak halted in Saturday’s 110-97 loss at the Seattle SuperSonics.

T.J. Ford led the Raptors with 24 points and nine assists. Fred Jones had 19 points off the bench and Jorge Garbajosa added 18 points with seven rebounds for Toronto, which lost for just the second time in seven games.

The Raptors have won two straight at home and are 7-3 at the Air Canada Centre this season.

Meanwhile, Minnesota has won two straight after a four-game losing streak. On Tuesday rookie Randy Foye scored a career-high 25 points and hit the winning layup with 1.8 seconds left, as the Timberwolves edged the Chicago Bulls for a 100-98 win at the Target Center.

Kevin Garnett posted 26 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists for the Timberwolves, who will play three of their next four games on the road and are 5-8 away from Minnesota this season. Mark Blount notched 18 points and seven rebounds on Tuesday, while Ricky Davis added 15 points in the triumph.

Minnesota, which is seven games off the lead in the Northwest Division, went 0-2 against the Raptors last season.

Toronto has won four straight and six of the last 10 meetings in the series, while the Timberwolves have dropped two in a row and four of their last five trips north of the border.
