Raptors suspend Murray

02.21.2004

Toronto, ON (Basketball News) - The Toronto Raptors suspended forward Lamond Murray for one game on Saturday for what they called conduct detrimental to the team.

Murray criticized coach Kevin O’Neill after being upset with his lack of playing time in Friday’s loss to New Jersey. He will miss Toronto’s game on Sunday against the Sacramento Kings.

The 30-year-old Murray started the game due to injuries to Vince Carter and Jalen Rose, but played just six minutes in the entire contest after allowing Richard Jefferson to shoot 3-of-3 from the field.

Murray is averaging 6.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in 28 games this season.
