Redd, Bogut lead Bucks over Bobcats

Andrew Bogut posted 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Bucks, who are 16-15 at the Bradley Center this season and 3-2 on their current seven-game homestand. Charlie Bell had 18 points and Mo Williams netted 17 for Milwaukee, which will also receive visits from the LA Clippers and Detroit. Ruben Patterson added 11 boards.

Gerald Wallace posted 20 points and 13 rebounds for Charlotte, which is just trying to survive the season. Playing without Sean May (sore right knee), Emeka Okafor (strained left calf), and Brevin Knight (strained left groin), the Bobcats got a career-high 18 points from Walter Herrmann and 15 from Derek Anderson. Last in the Southeast Division, Charlotte is just 9-25 on the road this season and has dropped seven straight as the visitor.

Trailing 80-74 midway through the fourth, the Bucks went on an 18-5 run capped by a Bogut free throw with 1:22 on the clock to lead 92-85.

Charlotte cut its deficit to 93-89 on Matt Carroll’s jumper with 25.9 seconds on the clock, but Redd converted a pair of free throws at 25.1 seconds. Raymond Felton hit only 1-of-2 from the charity stripe with 20.2 seconds left, but Williams made both of his free throws with 17.5 seconds remaining to seal the win.

The Bucks broke a back-and-forth contest on a Williams’ trey in the final minute of the first quarter to take a 24-20 lead into the second.

Milwaukee extended that lead to 32-24 just over three minutes into the second, but Charlotte went on a 13-2 burst capped by an Anderson free throw with 3:27 remaining.

Bogut’s dunk with seven ticks left made the score 47-43 in favor of the Bobcats heading into the locker room.

After Wallace’s layup 15 seconds into the second half, the Bucks rattled off the next 18 points, ended by a pair of Redd buckets for a 61-49 lead midway through the third. But, after trading baskets, Charlotte caught right back up on a 17-4 run down the stretch, as Jeff McInnis’ jumper in the final minute put the Bobcats up 70-67 heading into the fourth.

Game notes

The Bucks have never lost to the Bobcats, having won the nine all-time meetings between the teams. That includes a three-game series sweep last season and a 99-91 win in Charlotte in the other meeting so far this campaign...The two clubs will meet twice more this season.
