(Basketball News) - Seattle picked a bad time to play the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, as Shaquille O’Neal returned to the court. It all resulted in a Sonics’ 96-82 loss.
Ray Allen paced the SuperSonics with his third-career triple-double, scoring 18 with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Rashard Lewis scored 22 to lead Seattle, which has dropped two straight.
Seattle starting point guard Brent Barry is set to undergo surgery Thursday after fracturing the fourth metacarpal of his right hand in Tuesday’s loss against Dallas.
The Sonics have dropped six of their last seven on the road and are 9-12 away from home this season.
Seattle has a few days off before facing the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.
