Seattle SuperSonics Team Report - March 4

=== Seattle SuperSonics Team Report - March 4 ===

(Basketball News) - The Seattle SuperSonics fell to the San Antonio Spurs, 88-84, on Wednesday at the SBC Center.

Ronald Murray came off the bench to pace the SuperSonics with 24 points and seven assists, as Seattle lost for the ninth time in its last 12 games. Ray Allen added 21 points and Vladimir Radmanovic netted 14 in the losing effort.

Trailing 67-54 heading into the final quarter, Seattle outscored the Spurs 21-9, including six straight points from Murray, to get within one at 76-75 with 3:22 remaining.

The Spurs scored the next five points to go up six, but they could not pull away any further. Murray knocked down a 15-foot jumper with 1:28 left to pull the Sonics within 83-81.

However, San Antonio reeled off the next five points as Tony Parker started the spurt by hitting a jumper from the elbow and making a free throw on the next possession.

Robert Horry hit two free throws with 11 seconds to go to make it 88-81 before Allen fired up a meaningless three at the buzzer that went in.

Murray has averaged 21.5 points, four rebounds and 4.5 assists in his last two games.

The Sonics are off until Friday when they visit Shaquille O’Neal and the Los Angeles Lakers. This will be the third meeting of the season between the two teams, as each club has picked up a win on its homecourt.
