Simmons undergoes successful surgery

01.13.2007

Milwaukee, WI (Basketball News) - Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Simmons underwent successful surgery on his right foot Friday, the club announced on Saturday afternoon.

The procedure to address a symptomatic cyst in his heel bone was performed by Dr. Richard Ferkel, M.D., at the Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California.

The surgery was the second for Simmons in the last month. The forward had bone spurs removed from his right ankle on December 18, 2006.

The veteran forward is expected to miss the remainder of the season. Simmons averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds a game for the Bucks in 2005-05.
