Sixers host Spurs

(Basketball News) - The Philadelphia 76ers play the middle contest of a three- game homestand, as they host the San Antonio Spurs at the Wachovia Center.

This is the second and final meeting of the season between the squads. On December 16th, Tony Parker scored 24 points and dished outs eight assists, and Manu Ginobili hit two free throws with 10.8 seconds to ice a 103-98 win for the Spurs over Philadelphia at the AT&T Center.

San Antonio has lost five of six and six of its last 10 at Philadelphia. The Spurs have won four of the last five contests in this series.

Philadelphia picked up a solid win on Friday in the opener of the homestand. Andre Iguodala stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and five steals as the 76ers edged the Miami Heat, 98-95, in overtime at the Wachovia Center.

Andre Miller and Willie Green also had 16 points apiece in the victory over Miami for the Sixers, who snapped a three-game skid and won for just the second time in their past nine contests overall. Samuel Dalembert added 15 points before fouling out, while Kyle Korver netted 13 in the victory.

The Sixers are 6-9 at home this season. They are scheduled to host the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets on Tuesday in the finale of the current homestand.

San Antonio starts a short two-game road trip. On Friday, Parker scored 23 points and Tim Duncan contributed 12 points and 16 rebounds in the Spurs’ 99-86 victory over the Hornets at the AT&T Center.

Ginobili had 18 points and Michael Finley scored 14 for the Spurs, who topped the Hornets for a sixth straight time and for the 10th time in the last 11 meetings.

San Antonio is 13-6 on the road this season. The Spurs will visit the Boston Celtics on Monday at TD Banknorth Garden.
