Sonics activate Potapenko

12.11.2004

Seattle, WA (Basketball News) - The Seattle SuperSonics activated center Vitaly Potapenko and guard Ronald "Flip" Murray from the injured list prior to Saturday’s game against the Boston Celtics.

To clear roster spots, the team placed rookie center Robert Swift and Damien Wilkins on the injured list.

Potapenko suffered a broken finger during an exhibition game against the Trail Blazers and has missed the first six weeks of the season. The 6-foot-10 Ukrainian, a nine-year veteran, averaged 7.1 points and 4.4 rebounds in 65 games last season with the Sonics.

Meanwhile, Murray has been sidelined with a strained left quadriceps muscle. "Flip" averaged 12.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest a year ago.

Swift has a sore right hip, while Wilkins has tendinitis in his right knee.
