Sonics start five-game road trip in Milwaukee

12.12.2006

(Basketball News) - The streaking Seattle SuperSonics open a five-game road trip when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at the Bradley Center.

This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. Milwaukee is scheduled to visit the SuperSonics on January 19, 2007 at the KeyArena.

Seattle has lost two straight and three of its last four at Milwaukee. The SuperSonics have won four of the last six meetings in this series.

The SuperSonics enter tonight’s contest on a three-game winning streak. Luke Ridnour led a group of four Seattle players to score at least 20 points, recording 26 with nine assists to help the SuperSonics overcome a 16-point halftime deficit and defeat the Golden State Warriors, 117-115, on Sunday at KeyArena.

Rashard Lewis finished with 25 points and eight boards, Damien Wilkins had 22 points with nine rebounds and Earl Watson netted 20 in the win over Golden State for the Sonics, who have won four of their last five games overall.

Seattle is 4-5 on the road this season. The SuperSonics will also visit Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit and Memphis on the current road trip.

Milwaukee tries to get back on the winning track this evening. On Saturday, Eddy Curry netted a career-high 36 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the New York Knicks to a 115-107 victory over the Bucks at Madison Square Garden.

Maurice Williams scored 33 and dished out nine assists in the loss to New York for the Bucks, who failed in their attempt to win three straight games for the first time this season. Charlie Villanueva scored 24 for Milwaukee, while Michael Redd netted 22 in the losing effort.

The Bucks are 4-4 at home this season. They have won two in a row at the Bradley Center. Milwaukee is scheduled to visit Vince Carter and the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday and Ben Wallace and the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
