Sonics wrap up homestand vs. Clippers 01.28.2007

Seattle is 4-2 so far on the homestand and posted a 102-100 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. Ray Allen scored 36 points to lead the Sonics to victory.
Mickael Gelabale posted 17 points and eight rebounds for the SuperSonics, who have won four of their last five games overall. Chris Wilcox posted 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Nick Collison added 14 points and 12 boards.
The Sonics, who are 13-10 as the host this season, are last in the Northwest standings.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles had its four-game winning streak come to an end with Saturday’s 101-87 loss to Minnesota in the finale of a five-game homestand at the Staples Center.
Elton Brand paced the Clippers with 25 points and 12 rebounds and Corey Maggette had 19 points off the bench, as Los Angeles fell 14 games off the lead in the Pacific Division. Sam Cassell ended with 14 points in the loss.
Los Angeles will hit the road this evening and is 5-14 as the visitor this season.
Sunday’s showdown between the Clippers and Sonics is the second of four meetings this season. Seattle won the first matchup, 95-85, on November 22 at the Staples Center and has won two straight and nine of the last 14 meetings.
The Clippers have won two straight after losing their last three in the Emerald City.
