Spurs hold slim lead over Cavs at halftime

06.14.2007

Cleveland, OH (Basketball News) - Tim Duncan hasn’t made a field goal while Tony Parker has missed just one, all adding up to San Antonio’s 39-34 edge over Cleveland in an attempt to sweep the NBA Finals and hoist its fourth championship in nine seasons.

The subplot prior to Game 4 has stayed true to form during the first half at Quicken Loans Arena.

LeBron James is a new father, but San Antonio is 24 minutes away from accomplishing something far from new.

James’ girlfriend Savannah Brinson gave birth to the couple’s second son, Bryce Maximus James, just before 1 a.m. (et) Thursday morning.

On the court, Parker is 6-for-7 from the floor for 15 points and Manu Ginobili — fresh off an 0-for-7 Game 3 — has nine points on 4-of-9 shooting. Tim Duncan has only two points, missing all five of his shot attempts, but has grabbed eight rebounds.

James has nine points on 4-of-12 shooting, but Cleveland went through one of its series-long customary dry spells during the second stanza, scoring just 14 points after holding a 20-19 lead after one quarter.
