Spurs visit Bucks

01.26.2004

Milwaukee, WI (Basketball News) - The Milwaukee Bucks attempt to finish their three-game homestand with an undefeated record tonight as they welcome Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs to the Bradley Center.

Earlier this season, the Spurs defeated Milwaukee, 89-74, on December 28, 2003 at the SBC Center.

On Friday, Desmond Mason made 12-of-14 free throws and converted 4-of-6 shots for a game-high 20 points, leading the Bucks to a 98-86 win over the Toronto Raptors at the Bradley Center.

Joe Smith notched a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds in Friday’s win, as the Bucks won for the 12th time in their last 13 home dates. Brian Skinner posted 16 points and collected nine boards.

The Bucks, who have won two straight and nine of their last 12 overall, are 17-5 at home this season.

San Antonio comes into tonight’s contest having won 10 of its last 13 on the road.

The Spurs found themselves on the wrong end of a 98-96 decision against the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday at the SBC Center. Malik Rose scored 20 points and Duncan added 17 points and 13 boards for San Antonio, which had its two- game winning streak snapped.

Saturday’s game marked the second-straight contest that San Antonio was involved in a nail-biter. Tony Parker knocked down a jumper with 3.8 seconds left to lead the Spurs to an 86-84 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.

The Spurs have not allowed over 100 points in their last 29 games.

San Antonio is 12-10 on the road this season.

The Spurs have won three straight games over the Bucks. These two squads have split the last 12 meetings. San Antonio is 10-19 at Milwaukee.
