Stackhouse, who scored 20 points in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers Saturday night, told head coach Eddie Jordan after the contest that his knee could not recover completely without more rest.
The 29-year-old Stackhouse had arthroscopic knee surgery on October 21 and missed the first three months of the season after he was diagnosed with chondromalacia — a condition where the lining in the kneecap wears away.
He returned to the Wizards on February 1 and played in 12 games averaging 14.1 points and 3.8 rebounds.
