Struggling SuperSonics host Jazz

On Tuesday, All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki poured in a season-high 38 points as the Dallas Mavericks held off the Jazz, 108-105, at EnergySolutions Arena.

Carlos Boozer had 29 points on 13-of-19 from the floor in the loss to Dallas for the Jazz, who have lost two of their last three games overall. Mehmet Okur and Matt Harpring both registered 14 points, while Deron Williams scored 13 in defeat for Utah.

The Jazz are a solid 10-8 on the road this season. They return home to host the Miami Heat on Saturday before embarking on a four-game road trip. Utah is scheduled to visit Washington, Detroit, Toronto and Chicago on the upcoming swing.

Seattle has lost six in a row and plays the second of a season-long seven-game homestand. Dwyane Wade finished with 29 points and came up with some big buckets late as the Miami Heat edged the SuperSonics, 107-103, on Wednesday at KeyArena.

Ray Allen finished with a team-best 29 points and Chris Wilcox ended with 28 points and 13 boards in the loss to the Heat for Seattle, which has dropped 14 of its last 17 games overall.

The SuperSonics are 9-9 at KeyArena this season. They will also host Cleveland, Milwaukee, Denver, Minnesota and the Clippers on the current homestand.

Seattle continues to play without forward Rashard Lewis, who suffered a sprained tendon in right hand on December 20th during a 103-95 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He is expected to miss up to eight weeks with the injury. Lewis is averaging 21.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in 27 contests this season.

This is the third meeting of the campaign between the squads. The Jazz picked up a win at home and on the road in the two previous contests. Utah will host the SuperSonics on April 7th in the fourth and final meeting between the clubs.

Utah has won two of its last three at Seattle. The Jazz have won two straight and four of the last seven contests in this series.
