Suns sign Hunter

Phoenix, AZ (Basketball News) - The Phoenix Suns signed free agent center Steven Hunter on Friday.

Hunter, 22, spent last season with the Orlando Magic, averaging 3.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.24 blocks in a career-high 59 games. In 23 starts a season ago, he averaged 5.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks.

"Steven Hunter’s athleticism, shot blocking and rebounding ability give us an added dimension to address the need in the middle," said Suns president and general manager Bryan Colangelo.

A three-year veteran, Hunter has appeared in 145 career games, all with the Magic, averaging 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.05 blocks in 12.1 minutes per game.
