T-Wolves host Magic in welcome trip back home

11.11.2006

(Basketball News) - The Minnesota Timberwolves return home after a rough recent road trip to battle the Orlando Magic tonight at the Target Center.

Minnesota’s four-game swing started off well, as the club came through with a 112-109 victory at Denver on November 3. However, the Timberwolves dropped the final three contests of the trip, including a 95-88 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

Kevin Garnett led Minnesota with 26 points and nine rebounds, but saw his streak of 37 consecutive double-doubles come to an end. Rookie Randy Foye recorded 12 points in the losing effort.

The T-Wolves’ only previous appearance at the Target Center this season was a 92-83 triumph over Sacramento in their season opener.

Orlando started off a three-game road journey with Friday’s 93-83 loss at Indiana. Al Harrington scored 32 points and pulled down eight rebounds to fuel the Pacers’ win.

Jameer Nelson had 19 points to pace the Magic, who had a two-game winning streak halted. Grant Hill and Dwight Howard each finished with 17 points, with Howard grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds in the loss.

Orlando has lost both of his road tilts so far this season and was a dismal 10-31 away from home in 2005-06.

Minnesota and Orlando split two games last season, but the T-Wolves have won four of the last six in the series. The Magic also has lost in five of its last six games played at the Target Center.
