This season, Minnesota is off to a poor start. It is 3-6 and sits in last place in the Northwest Division.
On Wednesday, two teams with two-game losing streaks meet as the Timberwolves welcome the New York Knicks to the Target Center. New York has lost two straight and four of its last five at Minnesota. The Timberwolves have captured four of the last five contests in this series.
The Timberwolves will visit the Knicks on April 6th at Madison Square Garden for the second and final time this season.
Minnesota plays the finale of a short two-game homestand against the Knicks. On Saturday, Chris Paul scored 35 points, but it was Peja Stojakovic who was the hero, as he hit a three-pointer with 0.6 seconds left to lift the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets to a thrilling 99-96 win over the Timberwolves at the Target Center.
Kevin Garnett led the Timberwolves with 22 points and 17 rebounds in the loss to the Hornets, while Troy Hudson was 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and ended with 20 points off the bench in defeat.
Mark Blount scored 14 and pulled down seven boards for the Timberwolves, who have lost six of their last seven games overall. Ricky Davis netted 11 for Minnesota.
The Timberwolves are 2-2 at home this season. They will visit the Hornets on Friday at the Ford Center.
Garnett leads the club in scoring (21.8 ppg) and rebounding (12.0 rpg), while Davis has dished out a team-best 4.7 assists per game. The 30-year-old Garnett has scored in double-digits in all nine games this season and has collected eight double-doubles.
