=== Toronto Raptors Team Report - January 18 ===

(Basketball News) - The Toronto Raptors fell to the Atlanta Hawks, 75-70, on Saturday at Philips Arena.

Donyell Marshall recorded 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Raptors, who fell to 1-2 on a four-game road swing. Toronto only shot 37 percent from the field without all-star forward Vince Carter, who suffered a leg injury on Thursday.

Both offenses struggled right from the start as the 24 combined first quarter points were the second lowest in NBA history. The Hawks opened the game hitting just two of their first 14 shots, but still took a 16-8 lead into the second frame after the Raptors only made one of their first 11 shots.

Toronto outscored Atlanta by two in the second quarter, but still trailed 37-31 going into the intermission.

The game went back-and-fourth over the rest of the way until Shareef Abdur- Rahim nailed a jumper with just 40.6 seconds left that gave the Hawks a comfortable 70-65 edge.

With 29.6 seconds remaining, Chris Bosh could have made it a one-possession game, but only made one of two free throws and the Raptors trailed 70-66. Bosh shot a miserable 2-of-9 from the stripe. including eight attempts and seven misses in the final frame.

Jalen Rose made a layup with 17 seconds left to cut the deficit to 71-68 for the Raptors, but Jason Terry secured the victory for Atlanta with a pair of free throws on the ensuing possession when Toronto was forced to foul.

The Raptors are off until Monday when they visit the New York Knicks.
