All-Star Dwight Howard, a Slam Dunk Contest participant this weekend, had 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Magic, who enter the All-Star break having won two of three. Carlos Arroyo tallied 15 points with seven assists for Orlando, which has moved back over the .500 mark with a 27-26 mark.
Zach Randolph had 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead Portland, which enters the break having dropped two straight. Brandon Roy had 19 points for the Blazers, who ended a four-game road trip 2-2.
The Magic started to build a lead late in the second quarter. Down 35-34, Orlando ran off 13 straight points to take a double-digit lead. Milicic starred during the latter part of the surge, scoring the final seven points for a 47-35 lead with 1 1/2 minutes left in the half.
After cruising into the break with a 52-39 advantage, Orlando continued to pull away in the third quarter. Turkoglu’s three-pointer two minutes into action gave Orlando a 17-point cushion, 57-40.
Turkoglu ended hitting 10-of-16 shots from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three.
The Magic later increased their lead to as many as 19 points, 79-60, and coasted into the fourth with that same margin, 81-62.
A pair of Milicic free throws early in the fourth gave Orlando its first 20- point lead, 83-62, and the Magic cruised to the finish.
Milicic hit all nine of his free throw attempts for the Magic, who improved to 7-0 against Northwest Division teams this season. Orlando hit 17-of-18 free throws in the game.
