The Sixers are 3-0 and are the only team without a loss in the Eastern Conference. The last time Philadelphia started a season with three straight victories was during the 2000-01 campaign when it opened with 10 wins in a row and made it to the NBA Finals.
All-Star Allen Iverson poured in 31 points and dished out 13 assists to lead the 76ers over the defending NBA champion Miami Heat, 107-98, on Sunday at the Wachovia Center.
Kyle Korver sparked the Sixers in the decisive third quarter, scoring 13 of his 22 points as Philadelphia outscored Miami 28-16 in the frame. Andre Iguodala had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the win for the 76ers.
Philadelphia, which will visit the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday at Air Canada Centre, is 1-0 on the road this season. The Sixers knocked off the Orlando Magic, 105-103, on Saturday at TD Waterhouse Centre.
Indiana tries to win its second straight game. On Saturday, Indiana reserve Sarunas Jasikevicius scored 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and Al Harrington netted 32 to help the Pacers rout the New York Knicks, 109-95, at Madison Square Garden.
Forward Jermaine O’Neal finished with 17 points and seven rebounds in the win over New York for the Pacers, who outscored the Knicks 32-19 in the fourth quarter.
The Pacers, who will visit the Washington Wizards on Wednesday at the Verizon Center, are 2-0 on the road this season.
Last season, Indiana won two of three from Philadelphia. The Sixers have won three of four at Conseco Fieldhouse.
