|
(Basketball News) - The Utah Jazz continue their push towards their 21st consecutive postseason appearance this evening when they welcome the surprising Memphis Grizzlies to the Delta Center.
The Jazz are currently tied with the Denver Nuggets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference with the Portland Trail Blazers right on their tail, a half-game back.
Utah and the Nuggets both have five games remaining in the regular season, while the Blazers have six.
On Sunday, Andrei Kirilenko scored 18 points to lead Utah to a 97-92 win over the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. Carlos Arroyo added 15 points for the Jazz, who snapped a two-game road losing streak and won for the sixth time in their last nine overall.
Raja Bell chipped in 13 points, while both Mikki Moore and Gordan Giricek netted 12 in the win.
Utah, which is 9-4 in games played on Monday, has won five of six and seven of its last nine at home and is 26-12 inside its arena this season.
Utah has taken two of three from Memphis this season and could hold the advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won four of five and eight of the last 10 matchups.
The Grizzlies have also lost four straight and six of their last seven in Salt Lake City, where they are a dismal 2-15 all-time.
