(Basketball News) - Andrei Kirilenko posted 20 points and seven rebounds to lead Utah over Milwaukee, 99-90, Friday at the Delta Center.
Matt Harpring added 18 points and nine boards for the Jazz (7-6), who were in danger of falling under .500 for the first time this season. Raul Lopez also contributed 18 points off the bench, as Utah improved to 6-1 at home this season.
The Jazz took control of the game with a 9-2 run in the fourth quarter. Kirilenko capped off the spurt with two free throws to give Utah an 85-73 advantage with 7:19 to play.
The closest that Milwaukee could get was to within seven, on two separate occasions. The last time came with only 14.3 seconds remaining when Erick Strickland’s three-pointer cut the Utah edge to 97-90.
Utah turned the ball over 19 times, but won the rebounding edge, 37-31.
Utah’s Carlos Arroyo left the game with an ankle sprain and DeShawn Stevenson left with a neck injury. Arroyo missed two games earlier in the year when he sprained the same ankle.
The Jazz are off until Wednesday when they host Steve Francis and the Houston Rockets in the third of a six-game homestand.
