(Basketball News) - Andrei Kirilenko, who made 8-of-12 shots from the field, scored 24 points and blocked five shots to lead the Utah Jazz to a 102-91 win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday at the Delta Center.
Raja Bell delivered 17 points and six rebounds off the bench for the Jazz, who started the season with four straight victories for the first time since 2000-01, when they opened with five consecutive wins. Mehmet Okur contributed 12 points and nine boards off the bench.
Denver, which trailed 80-61 at the end of the third quarter, got within 98-89 on a jumper by Bryon Russell from the left wing with 1:23 to go. But the Nuggest were not able to get any closer.
Gordan Giricek netted 14 points and Jaron Collins finished with nine for the Jazz, who have won three straight and seven of their last 10 games against Denver. The Jazz have scored at least 100 points in each of their four wins this season.
Kirilenko has averaged 17.5 points, six boards and 6.5 blocks in Utah’s first four games of the season, while Carlos Boozer, who finished with just four points in 32 minutes of action, has registered team-highs in points (19.3 ppg) and rebounds (11.0 rpg).
The Jazz are off until Wednesday when they host the Toronto Raptors. Last season, the teams split a pair of games.
