Warriors drop Kings

Oakland, CA (Basketball News) - Matt Barnes poured in a career-high 32 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as Golden State beat up on Sacramento, 126-113, at ORACLE Arena.

Barnes, who recorded his first career double-double, finished 13-of-22 from the floor while Mickael Pietrus posted 21 points and Andris Biedrins and Mike Dunleavy each scored 20 for the Warriors, who have won two of their last three games.

Monta Ellis added 16 points and Baron Davis contributed 14 in the win.

Golden State shot 53 percent from the field.

Kevin Martin led the Kings with 32 points on 10-of-18 shooting and Ron Artest donated 22 points with nine boards for the Kings, who have dropped six of seven.

John Salmons finished with 18 points and 10 assists, Mike Bibby scored 16 points and Shareef-Abdur Rahim had 11 for Sacramento, which lost its fourth straight road game.

Golden State broke an 18-18 tie in the first quarter with an 11-0 spurt capped by Pietrus’ trey with 2:34 left. Sacramento, though, cut within seven, 32-25, on a Salmons three-pointer at the buzzer.

Late in the second, the Warriors opened up a 16-point advantage on a three- point play by Dunleavy and went into the locker room with a 68-54 cushion after Ellis’ three.

The Kings got as close as seven, 88-81 on Abdur-Rahim’s hook shot late in the third, but Golden State scored seven of the final eight points in the frame for a 13-point lead and cruised to victory in the fourth.

Sacramento finished 43 percent shooting.

Game Notes

Biedrins also grabbed 14 rebounds...Davis dished out 13 helpers...Artest was a perfect 13-of-13 from the charity stripe...The Warriors have won eight of 11 against the Kings...The Warriors host Houston on Thursday while Sacramento travels to Utah on Friday.
