Oakland, CA (Basketball News) - The Golden State Warriors activated their first-round selection from this year’s draft from the injured list on Wednesday, as Mickael Pietrus’ ankle healed quicker than anticipated.
The 6-foot-6 swingman sprained his ankle in Golden State’s season-opener on October 29, and had not played since. Pietrus, who was chosen with the 11th overall pick, was a three-time All Star in France.
He was not expected to return for another 10 days, but the injury improved rapidly.
Golden State placed forward Popeye Jones on the injured list with a left knee injury to make room for the rookie. Jones had knee surgery one week ago, and is expected to miss another five weeks.
