(Basketball News) - The Washington Wizards lost Friday in Denver to the Nuggets, 108-87.
Gilbert Arenas poured in 27 points as the Wizards lost for the fifth time in their last seven contests. Washington had won its previous two games following a four-game skid.
Larry Hughes added 12 points, while Etan Thomas and Juan Dixon each had 11 in the losing effort.
Christian Laettner played for the first time in Washington’s last four games due to a sore back. He finished with six points and five rebounds in 19 minutes.
Washington fell to 2-4 on the road.
The Wizards are off until Sunday when they play the second of a four-game road trip in Seattle against the SuperSonics.
