Will Kobe Bryant Listen to Euroleague Offers? In His Words: ’Yes.’

  By C.Y. Ellis

If Kobe Bryant’s recent admission that he’d likely accept a fifty-million-dollar deal from a Euroleague team weren’t concern enough for the Lakers, this should be. When asked if he’d listen to offers from the non-NBA organisations prepared to offer that sort of cash, he let loose the one word Kupchak and company didn’t want to hear.

Yes.

Kobe also touched upon some issues many have raised in their coverage of the European affair in suggesting that we may soon see reforms in the league’s salary cap restrictions and luxury tax impositions.

As players, the business of the game [is] evolving. I think free agency now is becoming a global thing …. When players become free agents, the team they’re currently with – their competition is no longer the rest of the teams in the NBA. But it’s global. So, the market’s opened up. So we’ll just have to see how the league responds to it.

Indeed. So, how soon would you expect to see the league respond? What should David Stern do to prevent NBA players from leaving simply for bigger deals abroad? Let us know what you think in the the comment box below.

Kobe is going to play in europe for about 2 years. Then come back to L.A. who would turn down 40 or 50 million dollars. .

Hey didn’t MJ leave the NBA at age 30 after his 3rd nba championship! Kobe will be 30 years old next year so I think he might try to follow MJs footsteps and take a 2 year break from the NBA! .

if kobe does leave, he’ll have to deal with all of LA at the airport trying to convince him to stay .
