Erick Dampier is a former Mississippi State standout and currently plays with the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks based in Dallas Texas. This past season was a break out season for Erick who reached a career high in double doubles, rebounds, points, and led all NBA centers with 41 double doubles for the 2003-2004 campaign, which got him nominated for the all star ballot in 2004. Through hard work and determination Erick has become one of the most improved players in the NBA and constantly pushes himself to become a better player. He carries this work ethic over, off the court at his summer basketball camps in both his hometown of Jackson, Mississippi and this coming summer in Dallas, Texas. He tries to teach children how hard work and determination go hand in hand. He is also very active with many charitable groups in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex and through his Erick Dampier Foundation’s "Damps Champs" program, provides 20 tickets to Dallas area youth for each of the Mavericks 41 regular season home games.

COLLEGE:Dampier led Mississippi State to a three-year record of 66-27 (.710) and three consecutive postseason tournament appearances, including a berth in the 1996 NCAA Final Four...He ranks fourth on MSU’s career rebounding chart with 859 boards and 13th on the school’s all-time scoring list (1,231)...He also holds or shares all of MSU’s blocked-shot standards...Dampier started all but four of 93 games, including 78 in a row, and registered 33 career double-doubles...As a junior, he ranked second in the SEC in rebounding (9.3 rpg), field goal percentage (.551) and blocks (3.1 bpg, 13th in the nation) and set a school record for blocks with 106...Named Honorable Mention All-America by the AP after his junior season at Mississippi State.
